ONCIDIUM 'Mini red'
One of the fancy oncidiums with numerous blooms balanced perfectly on a delicate stem. They are doll-like flowers and belonging to "The Dancing Lady" group.
Oncidiums are predominately yellow and brown in colour. Pink, purple, red and white flowers are also produced. The multicolour hybrids are fascinating. The spikes are often long and multi-branched.
Bright light is important for their growth. Most Oncidiums are easy to look after if they are given enough light. The hybrids bloom many times a year. They pick up cues for flowering from the temperature variations.
The circulating air is preferred by Orchids because they're used to the ventilation in natural rain forests. These orchids can endure hardships and are very resilient. Oncidiums like about half a day of sunlight.
In the nature, insects and animals often pollinate orchids. When the seed pod matures, the seeds blow with the wind. Only some seeds grow in to young plants. |
